The Masters 2014: Sartorial Birdies & Bogeys

Winning combination: simple navy and gray with the flash on the feet.

Another crocodile sighting.

Is he kidding? Jonas “Joker” Blixt in the comic-book villain combo of purple and green.

Never seen this before: Jimmy Walker with matching belt and shirt collar.

The great thing about amateurs is that they’re refreshingly hatless. Though tell Matthew Fitzpatrick to see our post entitled “The Top Button.”

A relatively logo-free Jimenez, and the only guy sporting Lacoste.

Argyle spotting.

For Billy Horschel, pants fine, shirt fine, but not together.

When wearing crazy pants, keep the shirt simple, such as white.

But not a white shirt with highlights that match your crazy pants.

Freddie looking relaxed and cool in sweater, but are those matching shoelaces?

Former Masters champions Nicklaus, Palmer and Player pose for a picture after the ceremonial start of the Masters golf tournament at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta

Jack and Arnie’s laid-back polo-and-sweater outfits (with saddle shoes for Palmer) for the 2014 Master’s inaugural tee-off contrast heavily with Gary Player’s severe ninja-assassin look.

I really like Horschel’s outfit- I am a bit biased because I love RLX golf, but his clothes just seem to fit better than most. The shirt has just enough structure to it without sacrificing comfort. The elbow length, open sleeved, slouchy golf shirts are so bad!

Max – Billy H is one of my favorite players, and I too, like his overall style. In particular, I’m a huge fan of his Footjoy Icon spectator shoes. They really add a classic tone to his modern look. I just can’t get behind the tennis shoe/street shoe look, nor the over-done techno-super hero shoes (looking at you Adidas).

For me Master 2014 was never the same. I think Tiger Woods was terrible missed 🙁
BTW, What is the story behind that crazy pink pant? Isn’t it a bit annoying and foolish?

Already working on a post devoted entirely to pink trousers. Working headline is “The Pink Pantser.”
